Carl Ekstrom "Asymetrical"
Carl Ekstrom
(Asymetrical) ’67, 3 stix, 9’.8” L X 23” W – Blue glass on fin.
White Hi-Density foam tail block. 8.5 condition. This board is very
unique with thinned foil rails. Water tight, reconditioned,
Original. I’ve never seen one like this, and I’ve seen a lot of
Asymetricals, and rode them over the years. This puppy is a
competition custom design. I’ve had it for several years because
it’s “Killer”, but I decided to sell it because it’s a conventional
(left foot forward) riding board. I’m a goofy footer and
asymetricals are designed for the cutback. I’ve have other
Ekstrom’s, so some lucky person is going to get a bitchen stick.
Carl was a one man show, and an insane craftsman. Shaping,
glassing, color, pinlines – you name it! His shop was located at La
Jolla Shores, S.D., Calif. Very nice guy. He will take the time
out of his day to talk with you about the old day’s of surfing,
about new designs he is coming up with. The conversation is endless
with Carl. Always has been a big credit to the industry since early
day’s of the 60s. A definite plus for anyone’s quiver, not to
mention the ride.
$2,500 Well
Spent!
