Carl Ekstrom, pintail, Bat Fin,
"Blue Moon"
1967, 9’8”,
pintail, “Blue Moon”. Very rare, never seen another one like
it. Not sure if it was named after Dickie Moon, but the
correlation
sure is there. That’s what I thought when I first got the board,
but talking with Carl about the board, he said he couldn’t afford
team riders. Any way – very trippy stick. All original,
reconditioned by Cheater-Five.
Don’t forget Carl
Ekstrom was a one man show and very good with all capacities of
building surf boards. He still is – keeps really busy. Carl
invented the Asymetrical tail in the early 60’s – designed for the
cut back. He still works with the Asymetrical these days and a new
design.
Just for view, for
