'69 Skip Frye, potato
chip transition. Double black label. Very slight V on
bottom of tail. This puppy is an insane ride, even today.
All original and original fin. Whiter than my '68. Very
nice. 8.5 condition. 8'3" L x 23½" W.
Skipper is a San Diego local boy, grew up surfing in San Diego, and
easily noticed with his unique style walking the board etc., going
out for a session at different surf spots, up and down San Diego
coast line, mexico and Sano. It wouldn't be out of the norm to catch
Skip gobble up his daily digest of waves.
Mike Diffenderfer built skip his first board when he was a youngster
about 12 years old give or take. A member of the first Pacific Beach
Surf Club, "Knakas" Surf Club when he was 18 years old, in the
middle '50s with other members, Mike Hyson, possibly Tom Connelly
(Kevin Connelly's dad), Eddie Cruz and a bunch of other guys I can't
remember their names. Skip was a member of Wind'nsea Surf Club in
the early days with all the local surf icons (master shapers) of the
time that put S.D. on the surf culture map.
Skip has always been a very good mellow and likeable person, with
strong values and still a good surfer, and shaper to this day.
